Only the Ultra 4 over the Huawei is clear of the disagreement behind it[22]. Those gaps are on the six criteria; recency widens them to 9.0 and 15.2 [27]. Everything else here is an ordering, not a measurement.
How much of this is reproducible, measured rather than assumed. Scoring the same unchanged records twice: one model moved five products by an average of 5.3 points. The three-model panel moved ten smartphones by 1.5 and six earbuds by 0.8[23]. So a panel position is worth roughly four to six times more than a single-model one — and a gap under about two points is still not a result.
The spread column is the part that does not reproduce. Across those same two runs it moved by an average of 5 points, and one phone went from a spread of 4 to a spread of 18 with its record untouched [24]. Read a spread as evidence that three models disagreed on the day, never as a stable property of the product, and never take a low spread as confirmation.
Every product rose, by 3.2 to 10.9 points[20]. The panel runs about 8 points above the single scorer, which is why the whole category was re-scored together rather than piecemeal — a panel score and a single-model score are not on one scale.
One number on this page is measured on the wrong test. The rubric reads "runtime with always-on display". The Huawei's 14 days is the figure WITHOUT always-on — with it, roughly half — while Apple's 42h and 50h both assume it [14]. Its 87 on battery is still the best here and still measured on the easier test, on the criterion carrying 0.22. grok predicted in the challenge round that an always-on-corrected figure below about 86 would swap third and fourth; the swap happened at 87 [19], helped by its other sub-scores moving once its operating system reached the record. It still carries no display brightness figure, so its display score rests on an absence [17].
And value cannot see the ringgit. The Ultra 4 scores 55 against the Ultra 3's 52 at an identical USD 799 MSRP, while the recommendation above rests on a RM500 Malaysian difference the criterion never sees [15]. Read this page as two tiers rather than four places: the two Ultras, then the other two.

The Apple Watch SE tier. No ECG and a reduced sensor suite means it is not competing on this rubric's heaviest criterion, and including it would make its price look like a bargain against a capability it does not have.
Fitness bands without a smart OS — Garmin, Whoop, Xiaomi's bands. A different purchase, and this catalog holds none of them.
Wear OS entirely. The catalog has no Galaxy Watch and no Pixel Watch, which is the single biggest hole in this page: it is three Apple watches and one Huawei, and it cannot tell an Android user anything.

Original research summary
The Apple Watch Ultra 4 is the better watch. The Ultra 3 at RM3,199 is the better buy. A three-model panel puts the Ultra 4 first at 87.4 against the Ultra 3's 83.0 on six criteria [20] — the reverse of the single-model result, and what both outside reviewers argued for. With release recency, 10% of each score since 27 September 2026, they stand at 88.6 and 79.6, the Ultra 3 now third [27]. It is still not a separation: the widest panellist disagreement is 8 points on the Ultra 4 and 12 on the Ultra 3 [22], and the 4.4 between them sits inside both; the extra gap recency adds is a year of age, not measured quality [26].
The single scorer could not tell them apart at all, printing 77.3 and 76.5 [20] — 0.8 points, which is not a measurement. Two outside reviewers traced the Ultra 3's lead to being scored 93 on software against 88 for the same watchOS [16]. The records were levelled and re-scored, and the gap simply moved: display came back 93 against 82, for two watches whose own records describe the same panel and the same 49mm case [18]. Nothing done to the evidence fixed it. Scoring them side by side did — three models put both displays at 95[21].
So the quality scores do not separate the two Ultras. The price does: RM500[8, 11]. The Ultra 4 wins the thing that actually changed this generation — 50 hours everyday against 42, and 84 in low power against 72 [5]. Buy the Ultra 3 while it is still stocked if the money matters; buy the Ultra 4 if it does not.
Avoid the Series 12 unless you charge nightly. It is second at 81.9 once release recency is scored, third at 80.0 on the panel's six criteria [27, 20], and the reason is a single number: 54 on battery under the panel, the worst on this page by 19 points [28] (38 in the earlier single-model run [4]). Twenty-four hours means charging every day, forever — and a watch on a charger is a watch not tracking the sleep its health sensing exists for.
How this was scored
The best smartwatch is the one whose health data you would actually act on, that lasts long enough that you sleep in it, and whose screen you can read in Malaysian midday sun. Health tracking leads because it is the only thing a watch does that a phone in your pocket cannot.
