Prices are regular prices on each brand's Malaysian store on 26 October 2026. That day some HOKA colourways were down to RM149.50, some Skechers to RM237.30, and every adidas colourway checked was discounted. Where you can buy it never changes a score. [65, 33, 38, 4, 8, 5]

How we scored

What "best" means: a slide or sandal that is comfortable from the first hour, still comfortable a year later, sensibly priced, and copes with Malaysian rain. The rubric weighs underfoot cushioning 25%, footbed support 20%, durability 25%, wet and humid fit 10% and Malaysian price 20%. Price scores 100 at RM40 or less and loses 20 points each time the price doubles. A footbed that testers report as stiff until broken in scores lower for cushioning, because the guide asks for comfort from the first hour. [38, 63]

Durability comes from wear evidence for the model, its predecessor or a sibling with the same documented sole. Otherwise it comes from the footbed material, using what independent testers found about that material: moulded foam not documented as cork, PU or rubber packs out within about a year, and solid natural rubber lasts a few summers. A pair with neither is not ranked rather than given a guess; that is why the Crocs Classic Clog is listed above instead. An earlier draft gave unevidenced foam slides a neutral durability score, and a later one applied the material rule unevenly; the independent review caught both, and rubric version 1.2 fixed them before the scores were redone. [14, 34, 53]

Release age is not scored, because a new pair of an older design lasts as long as a new pair of a recent one; release dates are shown as facts. Availability, stock, brand prestige and style are never scored. Each editorial score is a five-point judgement against written anchors, citing its evidence; confidence is low where no independent test of the exact model exists, and low confidence never lowers a score. The best everyday slide or sandal to wear in Malaysia's heat: comfortable from the first hour, still comfortable a year later, and priced sensibly for what it does. Comfort comes first (cushioning underfoot and a footbed that supports the foot), durability second, with credit for coping with rain, wet floors and humidity.
